P G Plover, LLC, is the originator of the $5 Shopping Shuttle. The concept was
initiated because (1) the rates available to our visitors to travel from Waikiki hotels to
Waikele Premium Outlets, located about 15 miles away, were too expensive, and (2)
shoppers had little freedom to shop as they were locked into a return time to Waikiki. A
pre-set time for shopping, as any shopper knows, is not practical. It is inconvenient for
those that desire to purchase only one or two items very quickly and for those that wish
to explore every store. P G Plover is the only service provider that offers a flexible
return time. Shoppers themselves decide when they wish to go back to Waikiki and
pick a time from among our departure times. Seats are reserved. Also, changing from
an earlier selected time to a later one, or vice-versa, is possible.

Our Name
Our name, P G Plover, is derived from the Pacific Golden Plover, a remarkable
bird that lives in Hawai’i during the winter and nests in the Alaskan tundra when it’s
warmer.

The 6 to 8-ounce Pacific Golden Plover, or kolea in Hawaiian, are not swimmers.
Yet they fly over a vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean between Alaska and Hawai’i a
distance of more than 3,000 miles with nowhere to stop to rest along the way.
Returning from Alaska, these amazing birds head directly to their home in the Islands, to
the exact spot they lived before embarking for Alaska... and they keep returning to the
same spot year after year.

The questions: How do they know when its time to leave Hawai’i? How do they
know where to go? How do they know when and where to gather before their marathon
flight across the ocean? With no orientation points over the water, how do they know
the direction in which to fly to reach their destination? How do they sustain themselves
without food or water for the three to four days that it takes to fly thousands of miles?

Those that study the kolea have no answers. They’ve concluded that the kolea’s
ability to accomplish these monumental feats comes directly from God. But, perhaps
like other migratory birds, they can fly for long distances by flying in formation, all relying
on each other.

Our Customer Services
In Waikiki, P G Plover employs customer service representatives that are
stationed at our various pick-up locations and also on the buses. They assist
passengers bound for Waikele and others that seek information about Waikele Premium
Outlets.

At Waikele, P G Plover is the only provider of transportation services that
maintains a service desk at Waikele Premium Outlets. Our staff assigned to this desk is
able to further assist passengers and shoppers.

Our Transportation
The luxury motor coaches that transport shoppers in air-conditioned comfort
between Waikiki and Waikele are owned and operated by PHT, Inc., dba Polynesian
Hospitality. All units are Prevost touring motor coaches with up to 62 seats and are
equipped with passenger seat belts, AER (Accident Event Recorder) system that
records activity inside and outside the vehicles and GPS ( Global Positioning System)
that tracks and records the speed and location of every vehicle on the road. Ample
overhead storage can accommodate a multitude of shopping bags ... while storage
compartments underneath the passenger cabin accept strollers, suitcases and larger
items.

The professional, friendly and helpful drivers are duly licensed to transport
passengers and many are certified as tour drivers or guides by the State of Hawaii.

Our Philosophy
P G Plover desires to emulate the cooperative effort of the incomparable kolea.
As one kolea works in unison with the others, we initiated the $5 Shopping Shuttle to
offer shoppers an inexpensive mode of travel to shop at the popular Waikele Premium
Outlets. So, like the kolea in flight relying on each other, P G Plover, its staff and
vendors benefit by increased ridership, merchants at Waikele benefit by more shoppers,
and shoppers benefit by low fares and first-class service.
